Everything you tried or said is wrong. Sorry...
Citrus love water. The issue (probably phytophthora) is the lack of oxygen in the ground.
- don't use terracotta pots. Use plastic pots. make ~2 cm holes every 10 cm on the sides of the pot but completely at the most down place, against the bottom. Or buy pots that have this holes. The are becoming very common.
- use regular soil for plants and flowers that you find in any garden shop they keep water and drain enough. And nothing else! like bark, clay pebbles, perlite, pumice...
- never let your soil dry.
- always re-pot in a pot 4 cm wider (2 cm on each side).
- try not to move your pots or no more than twice a year to take them in and out.

Most of my citrus are always out side and believe me, they are very happy when it rains.

About your pursha:
- 40°C don't kill the roots
- loss of roots, loss of leaves and full of flowers means death is near.
Your citrus have phytophtora. To try to save them you might treat them with fosétyl-Al.
And you even are not sure to save them.  :(

You made a mistake. Prague chimera is a chimera but Citrondarin is not, and we see it on your faces!...
Next time, taste the right one!   ;D

It works for me too now!  :)

Citrus General Discussion / Re: What lime is it that I had in Costa Rica?
« on: October 26, 2020, 09:56:35 AM »
Rangpur lime (C. limonia) is C. reticulata × C. medica.
Mandarine is the female parent and citron (not lemon !!!) is the male parent, like ‘Rough’ lemon (C. jambhiri), ‘Volkamer’ lemon (C. limonia Osbeck) and C. karna.
The mandarine is the ‘Cleopatra’ mandarin from the acid mandarin group.

Citrus Pages is wrong on this subject. I shall correct it as soon as I can.

> Sylvain's Longheensis tree is the tallest siingle stem trunk with almost no side growth I have ever seen.
In the Citrus variety of UCR they say "Tall, vigorous, upright trees" and "trees are very vigorous, tall and columnar".
And it's true!

It was grown in a pot at the foot of an apple tree. It had to grow strait to reach the light at the top of the tree.
It spent several years without any protection and had no damages at all.
I decided to put in in ground in full sun... and the upper two thirds froze.  :(
Last winter no damage occurred.
I think it did not like to go from pot to ground.

it seems it is cold hardy  but not extremely cold hardy.

Very funny! This site (http://birds.songs.free.fr) is a place where I put my dwaft version of my sites before I release them.
This version of Citrus Pages is deprecated.
The right place is now http://citruspages.free.fr
It still not includes the genealogy that was discovered by DNA analyses. You might not use Citrus Page to define ancestry of citrus.
Next winter I shall update the site with the recent data.

On the picture you might have washed the most important place: the collar.
When the roots are OK and the leaves are falling you must think of the collar.

I was not speaking of hamsters but of susliks. There are two species in Europe Spermophilus citellus and Spermophilus suslicus (from suslik).
I used to breed susliks a long time ago. They are very cute animals.

SeaWalnut, your mice has nothing to do with mice. We call them suslik (souslik in french). They are very protected.
They are very nice animals. I love them.

Are you sure? Satsumas are very hard to root.
