I just want to share this information about Indonesian new mango variety.
It is result of almost 12 year breeding program. this mango released under name "Agri Gardina 45"
its parent was Harum Manis X Saigon.
Harum manis considering as one of indonesian best tasting mango but its green color seems become a problem when it comes to export.
Saigon is a variety introduce from India, and i think it is different than Saigon cultivar that few time mention in this forum.
overall the taste was resembling the Harum manis and the peel color is blushing red, but i think the size would be another problem.
But i found some interesting character about this mango...it dwarf and very early bearer...and its have some ability to induce flowering of the tree where its scion grafted on to...even juvenile rootstock can induced to flowering...i will try an experiment use it as interstock...lets see how it work to juvenile scion that grow from seed.

Friend of mine send some photo of really really small mango...or at least Mangifera sp...since i don't know what exactly the species is.
People in South Kalimantan (South Borneo) called it Kucilak or Cililitan. it skin and flesh color just like Kesturi (Casturi)...and when ripe...it really sweet. but my friend said its entirely different species. there is at least four or five "Wild Mango" that often sell at fruiting season and this Kucilak and Kesturi were two of them. 

Some pict of Golek mango this season. i think it was most fiberless among indonesian mango, in fact there is no fiber at all. but the best quality with true flavor of this kind were need special soil and wheater condition...it best grow in dry/arid climate with sandy soil...

well, at least thats how fruit growers here called it, since there no one know what exactly cultivar its is.
my guess it would be some seedling of vietnam longan (long nhan in viet) and like major of vietnam longan, it is very tropic tree. there is no need of cool temperature to induce flowering. and it really early bearing, even if growing from seed. mine is a grafted and simply flowering when it first flush that emerged after graft process had mature leaves.

In the end of June i bought 2 kilos of lychee fruit from nearby fruit vendor here in east java. just wonder what variety they are? it taste very sweet with no acid or astrigent...flesh was thick and smaller fruit even had shrunken seed. i think it was imported from china since there chinese character printed on the box. aniway, most of lychee fruit in indonesia imported from thailand and most of it was Kom cultivar (similiar to bosworth or mauritius - not sure) it was small in size with some sweet acid flavor. so it just curiousity of mine....
