Blue grape tree
« on: April 15, 2017, 03:56:21 PM »
Got a 4 foot blue grape tree, it's flowered 3 times in the last few months but has set no fruit! Is this normal? I wanna try the fruit so bad!

It is. And sometimes you get duds -- trees that produce large amounts of flowers that result in 3 or 4 fruits. I have 2 trees, one that produces heavy crops (100+) and the other that produces very light crops (1/2 dozen). They are roughly the same age. It's luck of the draw with seedlings.

Nearly as good. Only drawback is large seed. Allow fruit to turn completely black before harvesting for best flavor.

I would say flesh is a little "meatier" in the Vexator but flavor is nice for a jabo.  The tree and fruit have a powdery bloom on them.  I think if I had to choose, Red Hybrid is better.

Are these the two trees you got from me?  I was curious when they would start to flower.
