try washing the seeds with detergent to remove the waxy coating , soak in 300 ppm gibberellic acid 1-2 days, plant in well draining sterile medium. should get 50% germination

Germinating Myrica rubra seeds
wash with detergent to remove wax covering from seeds
fresh seeds can planted after washing
stored seeds should be cold stratified or soak with some gibberellic acid
softwood cutting under intermittent mist roots easily
