Tropical Fruit Discussion / Chinese red Guava/Ugni (Crataegus pinnatifida)
« on: December 14, 2018, 04:15:22 PM »
Today, I found a strange fruit at supermarket. It was labeled as Chinese red Guava but it doesn't look like guava at all. It could be ugni species, maybe.

I tried one fruit and it tasted like strawberry apple, with only 3 seeds in the center.

I will post a picture.... soon

I tried Some Salvadora persica berry from my tree and I was amazed how good is this fruit. It tasted like rose syrup and was extremely sweet.

Some people even say that this fruit is better than cherry.

Edit: these pictures are not mine. I got these pictures from the internet. I only had a few berries to try from my trees.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Honda wood chipper ?.
« on: June 27, 2018, 04:24:09 PM »
A few days ago, I went to some local hardware stores looking for wood chipper. I Went to 20 stores but I only found it in one store and they are selling multiple types (engine); Electric, diesel and Petrol. The diesel wood chipper is completely made in China (engine and body), the Petrol wood chipper comes with Honda GX390 11.7HP but the body is made in china. The Electric one is made in Brazil by trapp and it is the cheapest.

So my question is, How good is Honda GX390 engine ?. I know they are supposed to be better than Briggs and Stratton but I would love to hear more opinions.

Thanks

Hi,

I bought some Korlan seeds from ebay. They were shipped with coconut moss. Once I got them, I put them inside a ziplock bag with my special germination mix  8) .

It has been around three weeks since I put them inside a ziplock bag , but still no sign of life. Any idea how long they usually takes to germinate ?.
