Looking for rollinia tree

Looking for a rollina tree (preferably a big one)

Post if u can ship or i can pick it up (if within the vicinity).

I am sure other people will reply to this request and know of a large tree available in the L.A. area.  The only large 15 gallon size I know of are at Ong's Nursery here in San Diego.  I think they still had a couple the last time I was there in January.  That is where I bought my tree last year.  Are you going to grow this tree in a greenhouse or be prepared to cover it every winter and provide some extra heat?  I lived in Northridge for several years and know how cold it gets in the valley during the winter.  Also the summers are so hot and dry and those Santa Ana winters are going to be difficult on this tree.  You may have difficulty in getting the tree to grow well. Good luck though!

So far all my tropical fruit trees thrive. My soursops, papayas and the rest took the summer (122 f & the cold (29farenheit) like a champ...

Ong's is not cheep but they have quality plants...the smaller 15 gallon plants were around $150 and the larger 7 footers were $260.  It is a lot of money to shell out, but worth it because many of the plants they have are adapted to my climate.  If I order plants through the mail it may take a year or two for them to acclimate.  Call them to verify they still have some. I remember those temperatures....oh 122F!

I will post a photo soon.  Right now, it doesn't look like much since it is just leafing out again. I am hoping it will flower soon.

I hope that is a good sign.  Now the fun part begins......trying to get the tree to flower and fruit.  It has a long way to go before it gets to the size of mature trees in Florida and Hawaii.

they bounce back and flower but all it takes is a strong Santa Ana....Bob will mostly fruit it since he's near the coast. I believe Mark Lee has fruited see if he's around.

Gozp - I hope your are right, but I am not expecting too much since it hasn't been in the ground for a year yet.  My luck with Annonas has been basically wait and watch with no fruit.

JF - I hope I have a good microclimate for the Rollinia, time will tell.  It seems vigorous and may produce flowers if the temperatures hold out.  The flower buds are slowly growing, but really small. It looks like the flowers won't be mature until mid/late June, just about the time our humidity drops...lol! My AP really responded well to defoliating as you suggested and is quickly growing a lot of flowers.  I will keep you guys updated.
