Maha & Iman Passand? Tips on when to pick please
« on: May 23, 2018, 08:33:36 PM »
Hey my maha is bearing for the first time, and my iman pass and has fruited once before but the birds got the couple fruit on the tree then (now its loaded).

Any advice on when to harvest these two varieties would be greatly appreciated.

For Maha, I like to pick em as soon as I see a break of yellow on the skin (sometimes seen first at the base of the mango). They counter ripen just fine i.m.e. The same for Imam Pasand as well.

TnT.. are you seeing enough break of yellow here?
Put the cup next to it for scale..tree flowered in early Feb if I remember right.

I only have 4 on the tree so I'm being cautious with timing picking.

I have seen a couple of maha photos that do not have that classic elongated s shape.
Is this a function of maturity of the tree or what?
Will a tree from seed exhibit this trait while a grafted tree might not?

Just curious since I just did a maha graft and would like to know what to expect.
