I'd be happy to gather wild seeds here in Austin, TX, but your request comes two months too late for 2023.

I bought several boxes from Rincon Tropics last summer, all very good. They seem to start shipping right at the end of July through mid-October.

Will you be selling Dwarf Orange and Chica Negra later by any chance?

4
I hope the grafts work this year--still very much interested!

Chris

That's a great idea--I'll give it a shot next year. Thanks.

6
Also definitely a possibility. Thanks. I need to go through all my emails and look for Manilkara seed purchases now!

7
Yeah, I feel like that's the right family but the leaves and branching pattern don't look like anything I'm finding. Definitely closer to Manilkara than to Pouteria based on the leaves. Thanks.

Hi all, I'm 90% sure I bought these seeds on the forum in 2020, but the squirrels really did a number on my labels in 2021 and I'm missing any information about what these could be. They might be some kind of Sapotaceae...I just can't tell--the way the branches split is pretty unusual for Pouteria. And the young green stems have odd bumps. Does anyone have any ideas?

Tropical Fruit Buy, Sell & Trade / Re: Pawpaw in 9B
« on: April 30, 2022, 07:25:32 PM »
I'm skeptical that it will grow in FL. It's hard enough to get pawpaw to grow here in Texas (Zone 8a)--basically you have to keep the young trees protected in the shade for many years and provide lots of water. But there are some native FL Asimina species you might try. I have heard that some A. parviflora have decent fruit.

You can find pawpaw for sale online but not until early fall. And it ripens and rots extremely quickly, so it has to be shipped and consumed rapidly.

Citrus Buy, Sell, & Trade / Re: Wanted Chicken heart wampee seeds

Did anyone ever find seeds for named wampee varieties?

13
Everything arrived in very good condition, thank you very much!

Hmm, I had to look around to see what the regulations are and I'm still not completely clear. Not everything in Rutaceae is a "citrus" and subject to restrictions, e.g. I've ordered many boxes of white sapote from CA and FL, and I've ordered Glycosmis seeds from several states over the years. It does look like Liberibacter can infect wampee though.
This site seems to suggest that plant material should not be exported but that seeds are ok:

Tropical Fruit Buy, Sell & Trade / Re: ISO Miracle berry Plant
« on: April 15, 2022, 12:10:57 PM »
Hi Frank, I can't help with the plant, but I wanted to offer a suggestion--have you tried freeze-dried miracle berries? If you look on Amazon for "Miracle Berries by Snozzberry Farm" you'll see the good ones. I have a miracle berry plant and enjoy getting berries from it, but it produces at best 20-30 berries a year (it hates our chlorinated, alkaline water, and our cold winter--in Zone 5 you're going to have to keep it indoors half of the year). The freeze-dried ones are awesome for when you don't have fresh ones--they're much better than the lozenges made out of miracle berry extract.

16
I'm asking around and some friends might want a few as well--how much would you sell the seedlings for? Thanks!

17
Wow, thanks. I think I'd just like about 10 of them. Are these from fruit you tasted?

18
Hi all, still looking for tasty wampee cultivar plants, seedlings, or seeds--anyone have any or know anywhere to look?

I'd love to buy some E. polyclada seeds if you still have some, and E. domingensis seeds when you get them. Are you going to make a waiting list or just post when you have them?

I'd love to hear how E. polyclada, E. domingensis and E. monticola taste.

As far as selling the E. ligustrina seeds in a hurry, you might check out the Facebook group Rare Fruit Sales & Auctions, or maybe check out the Figbid site--they have stuff other than figs.
