Yes, all limes turn yellow when completely ripe.

It will need a season to get it's roots established. I've heard there are specimens in Boston, so you may have a chance with proper sighting.

Wait until spring.

Variegated citrus seeds pretty much produce 100% albino seedlings that won't survive.

Yes, once there is a hole in the fruit, the "guts" start to come out. We get oriole birds here every fall & any fruit still on the tree they go after. Once there is a hole in the fruit the seeds & juice will start to come out. It aggravates the hell out of my wife. We didn't know what was causing it until my wife caught them in the act.

Great video, but I'll stick to T-budding & cleft grafting.  ;D

The tree will be sparse & look weak. The branches will stretch to find the most light...

It will get way to large to fast to be able to protect long term.

They are seeds...

914
Lol! That's going to be a hell of a lot of seeds. I doubt they will be as hardy as swingle & will produce large trees that are more prone to cold damage.

Citrus General Discussion / Re: Kumquats in pots- when to take in?
« on: October 15, 2018, 03:11:53 PM »
Kumquts are hardy to 20F easy if they are in the ground. In pots I wouldn't leave them out much below 32F as the pots will freeze, freezing the roots.

Probably birds. I have caught birds pecking at my fruits. You can also have fruit split if you get a lot of rain & the tree uptakes water fasted than the fruit can handle.

Like I said a better close up of the fruit & branches would. But most all citrus has a thorn at each node.

If it is rough lemon, you don't want to eat it.

Most all citrus has thorns on the branches, I don't see any on this tree & the fruit doesn't look right either. The closest citrus I know of that looks close would be rough lemon. It's used as rootstock, but the graft may have died & the rootstock took over.

He lost his entire satsuma grove last winter. Said he dropped to 8F. He's still selling citrus trees & has his veggy stand running.
