Your Thai red looks excellent! I've got a guava similar to yours but I haven't received fruit from it yet, definitely gets me excited to try it!

Yes better taste first....

Do fruitfly also go to strawberry guava? I want guavatree that has no fruitfly.

« on: September 03, 2018, 06:50:44 PM »
I grow them from Ajesh who is selling now. They grow very well but he has the real big type fruit...real inga edulis as he claims.

Not all of them are as nice, so make sure you get a nice one and best buy them now in your summer.

363
good luck with one tree.

Applying Potassium Sulfate will help to keep fresh new growth healthy;  it will not fix the leaves that are already damaged--- dead tissue cannot be resurrected.

Yes sometimes new leaves all look good, but weeks later they get brown at edges...should i give potassium all the time?

Yohann my rambutan in Thailand look the same, always leaves like that and extra potassium does not help for me. Do you give much potassium? I use potassiumsulfate but not to much.

Can red longan also have small seed?

I really like it. It is similar to Julie, but in my opinion slightly better tasting. The flesh can be soft; some people may not like that. Definitely worth trying. I just grafted over 1/2 of one of my mallikas to it. One of the most endearing characteristics of the tree is that it will literally bear fruit a year after being grafted (and every single year after that). The most precocious mango I've experienced. Growth rate is ridiculously slow.

Your angie must be receiving nitrogen.

In the video Har commented about the bitterness of Maha skin.  My Angie is much larger than my Pickering.  I have to top it every year.  With Pickering I only cut the lowest branches because I don't want the fruit to touch the ground.
Yeah I guess I should stop the nitrogen.  But Pickering's been getting nitrogen, too.  How do you rate the flavor of Dwarf Hawaiian, Jeff?

I had grafted mahachanok but it did not fruit for 4 years so i cut the whole tree and grow other mango now.
