Psidium salutare, araza rastrero
« on: February 27, 2019, 10:08:29 PM »
Hi, I am just reporting that today I received some fruits of arazá rastrero from Misiones and they taste very good!
Very unique taste, maybe a bit similar to Psidium robustum... but if would have to compare its flavour to popular fruits, I would say something like a mix of grapes, green apples, pear, pineapple.

The plant grows as a small shrub (1 or 2 feet tall), being the only Psidium native of my Province of Buenos Aires (Tandil), so it is frost hardy up to, at least, -6ºC. This one in particular produces big fruits up to 3.2cm diam, while the normal size is 1.5cm diam.
