Title: Fast flowering trifoliata
Post by: Laaz on September 26, 2018, 05:16:11 PM
This is my trifoliata that flowers at about one year from seed. And is a dwarf, my 15 year old tree is about 8 ft tall.

10 seeds = $10 includes shipping.

I also have about 15 seedlings from last year. $20 each + shipping.

I can not send plants to citrus states. Also for seed, overseas will have to pay shipping & make sure to can get seed sent into your country. I will not be responsible for customs taking the package.

Do you have a photo of the mother tree?

Thanks, Laaz, I'm definitely interested in new forms of trifoliate and will probably take you up on your offer for seeds.

Do you notice any other characteristics that differ from normal trifoliates with your tree?

I'm trying to find a couple of improved trifoliate cultivars, specifically poncirus+ but so far have not been successful finding any trifoliate cultivars with improved fruit here in the US. I think it could be a great starting point for breeding future cold hardy hybrids.

What is the germination rate for the seeds? When were they collected?

They are collected the day I ship them. germination is almost 100%.

Just checked my seedlings from last year. I though I pulled all the blooms off of them this spring. Guess I missed one...

For people in Europe, the post office says anything besides regular paper in a bubble envelope they must charge as package rate which is insane. I used to be able to send a small bubble envelope to Europe for $2, now it's $14. This is an example of one I shipped to Germany today... Not even an ounce!

That is sad. The post office need to make money to survive like everywhere else. People don't send letters anymore, and they have a big revenue loss.

Just received a Fast Flowering Trifoliate Poncirus from Laaz.  It is a nice looking plant so I'm guessing it should have flowers within the year.  Also ordered some Red Lime trees which I potted into some Root Maker Air Root Pruning Pots.
