any cocnut growers in or around san antonio

looking to get advice to grow a couple of dwarf varieties in Adkins, Tx.
I have been reading various posts on the forum... did not anyone from tx.

I'm pretty sure real coconuts are seriously tropical. Like die at 40 degrees. I do see germinated ones in produce markets here (Houston) sometimes, but don't think they would survive long enough to produce anything. I
That being said, if you do have success please keep us informed. It would be cool to have productive coconut palms!

where in Houston do you see them... can make trip to see them.
may be they are not available at this time of year.

Pbala - there is a farmer's market on the North side of Houston. Canino produce (I think). It's at 2520 Airline dr. I have seen sprouted coconuts there. I don't know how often you could find them. They have a bunch of vendors and sell whatever is in season. There are 2 good yerbarias close as well. D
