i named them starcherries cuz the everyone says they look like carambolas, but they are also commonly mistaken as a surinam cherry.

cut them transversely with a very sharp knife, and you will get the star shape (as pictured below with miracle fruit, earlier in this thread)

the name is easy to remember, and make an association with.
