Nice on growing the pups, now you can see see if the first fruit was a fluke/overripe or if the great tasting experience can be repeated. Keep us posted in time.

JoeP450, I had two plants. Another one was too young to produce fruit but did and it was 'lost' in the garden, in a small pot so the fruit was small. I didn't think it will develop at all but it did. An animal got it before me but there was a piece I could cut off and taste. The taste was the same yummy.

These pictures were taken under the light inside and the color looks yellow. You can see that the pineapple isn't overripe.

This  looks more true to the color.

Wow I’ve never seen a translucent pineapple before, looks really interesting. Are you growing those pups?

-Joep450

I haven't too. Yes, I am growing some of those pups.

The pineapple looks over ripe and starting to ferment.

Simon
Simon, it was perfectly ripe. I thought so too when I cut it opened but the taste was incredible. I've tasted rotten pineapple before. I will post more pictures tomorrow.

I had an amazing pineapple to taste this year. Bought two plants at a Flea Market with no name tag but they looked very healthy and different from what I grow. The seller didn't know the variety name. Well, they fruited and the fruit looked long conical in shape (weird) and a bunch of pups and suckers. The whole plant looked like a bush with the hidden pineapple inside..  ;D The taste of this pineapple blew me off. It was so sweet and juicy. It was gone in a few minutes, lol. The inside was translucent white/pale yellow. So, I thought before it was a sugarloaf but I had one before that was different. I looked it up and found a few videos on YouTube about Eleuthera pineapple and it looks very similar to what I got. Does anybody else grow this pineapple and can tell me what variety is it?

Some pics.

Cold Hardy Citrus / Re: Variegated sour orange seedlings.

My seedlings started nicely variegated and grew green after 5th leaf. I see the bottom leaves are still variegated. Is it normal? Will they grow variegated leaves at all? I need to give them more attention.

Thank you for all the help.

Referring to your posts:
1. Yes, it is on new growth. On Key lime actually, I mixed the containers up.
2. It is a very tiny insect. The picture is 8x zoom
3. All the bushes I referred to are citrus. I bought these miniature citrus bushes to plant in planters around the house. 5 containers altogether.
4. I am afraid it is the best picture I have taken. I will try tomorrow again. Or rather I hope all bugs will be done after neem oil spray.
Malia, you can return your trees you bought from Lowe's and HD.

This is impressive and an inspiration to us growers in colder climates . This could be called a passive solar greenhouse as well with the long south wall and thermal mass of concrete. Looking forward to more information and pictures!
I agree!  :)

I've bought a big bag of Pink Marsh. They're delicious. Two to three seeds inside. I will have to go get a few more bags, so yummy.

I've rooted a few cuttings of trifoliata. They stayed green for a year without any growth then started to push. I believe, it had the first few flowers next year, didn't set any fruit. The following year it had lots of flowers but set only one fruit.

I don't remember any Christmas greetings.   I tried Google Translate but that is a real hassle.  Perhaps a member that knows Russian can invite him.
Millet, I speak Ukrainian and Russian and I've sent him a privat message, so hopefully he will join us soon.

No way!  Lucky! Each Home Depot offers different vendors. I haven’t seen them for sale where I am.
Is your fingelime fruiting already?
It had some last year but dropped them all. It's flowering right now. I also bought a small one for a friend and it has some fruits almost ripe.
