Fertilizer to make guava sweeter

Hello All,

I have some guava trees (Red Malaysian, Lemon Guava, Varigated Guava, etc...) that do not seem to be as sweet as some others that I have tried.

I heard that there was a fertilizer of viatimin that can be applied to help raise the brix level?

Something like viatimin B?

Does anyone know?

I am in the California Bay Area BTW.

Fertilize with 0-0-50 would help sweeten the fruits.  Don't water a week or two before harvest to thicken up sugar content inside the fruits.  This helps sweeten my guava fruits.  Hope this help.

No vitamins for plants and they manufacture what they need from the nutrients in the soil. P,K, Mg and Zn are pretty important for taste and assuming pH is in optimal range. Ca help with texture and does K. There isn't really a magic bullet sweetener and healthy trees with all nutrients needed in healthy soil will have sweeter fruit generally.

Those red Malaysians will never go sweet, if the lemon is P.giuneense then variety is the key. Maybe planting good pink and maybe a white fleshed sweet variety is the easiest way to get sweet fruit.
