Any ideas on what causes brown leaf edges on rambutan?
« on: October 11, 2014, 01:49:00 AM »
Any ideas? It's still really warm and pretty humid here so I can't imagine it is a climate issue. This is a grafted tree from PR. After shipping it dropped all of its leaves and died back quite a bit but sent out a new vigorous shoot and seems to be doing well. Just not sure what is going on with the leaf edges.

Brown edged leaves very common in rambutan. Usually caused either by lack of potassium or a virus. Lack of potassium is the more common cause.

Rambutan are also sensitive to wind.  They show brown leafy edges in windy conditions.
Applying laws and rules equally to all is a cornerstone of a civilized society.

Will get brown edging even when fully protected from wind.
