Myrtaceae ID
« on: January 28, 2021, 07:26:23 AM »
Hello everyone,

Just found this very nice Myrtaceae in the forest of Guiana but i'm stuck to identificate it. It doesnt match to all myrtaceae members ID keys i've found.
Fruits are 1cm large, medium amount of pulp, taste nice but lack of savor.
Here is some pics :

By look at the fruit, I thought it is Rhodomyrtus tomentosa, but the leaves are not look like.  No clue.

I'm thinking about a Myrcia family member.
Leaves have very short petiole, looking almost like Myrcia sylvatica but fruits are different.

If I was guessing I think a Myrcia and there are hundreds of species.  Maybe not M.splendens but perhaps a closely related species.
