its a simple graft like every other graft you do. I have done veneer, cleft, on both green and mature wood, although hardened green wood has gotten better results. Also timing is perfect for grafting even now.Somehow I have cocktail lychee on longan and lychee Rootstock, it may be tough nut to crack but somehow I got good success.
"Old Post but wanted to inform that No Mai Tze is very compatible grafting onto longan and hakip rootstocks. I got takes in 3 spots 5 grafts It failed on Brewster. Grows aggressive on longan. It even bloomed in first season."Behl, I had success grafting NMT on my large Brewster tree so its also compatible. I have Mauritius and Sweetheart grafted and I did notice the NMT and Sweetheart are growing slower than Mauritius for me. The Mauritius grafted branches are growing well and has some flowers now (less than 1 yr old graft). My NMT on longan is doing well and has some flowers starting so I will let a few fruits ripen if the flowers don't all fall off.
They are becoming less popular and less common here so maybe that is a wider trend. Just in case you missed the erdon lee pic I posted in another thread have a look at this as I think they will be common in the future.A friend grew these at mission beach and that is a few in my hand from last December.
From Lexus dude.
I just planted a “15 gallon” No Mai Tzse from Exotica
Quote from: Kuhyay on March 31, 2021, 10:10:26 AMI’ve got one of the exotica NMZ too. This is pretty common for them. Looks like a year old air layer at most. Has anyone fruited one from them? I’m not convinced it’s an actual NMZ.Is there a reason you are not convinced yours is an actual NMZ? Have you tasted and compared the fruit versus NMZ?
