My friend Toni has begun to harvest sugar apples for the first time from here tree. She noticed a pink tinge in the skin and isn't sure what variety this is. Any ideas?

A squamosa is highly variable...yours looks like some local variation, but nothing too unusual.
was there anything special about the fruit?

shades of pink, blue green, yellow, orange, and reds, aren't uncommon.
but they are mostly green/yellow. with bits of reds and pinks here and there.

It looks like a regular sugar apple. It is common for them to get a color tinge of red or yellow but they are the same green ones
