Samoan Dwarfs
« on: September 26, 2019, 04:57:39 PM »
I have two Samoan Dwarf Coconut trees available. I purchased three from our forum member Coconut (Jack). Only put one in the ground and don’t have any space for these two. I had sold these already about a year ago but they didn’t fit in the persons SUV. If you are serious, you need a big truck as these are between 12-15 ft. tall and in 25gal containers. I want $200 for each. I’m in Miami Fl. Send me a text at 786-295-1529
Ron

awesome, this can go super dwarf, dig a huge pit with extra sand backfilled for drainage, and plant existing stem, the pit will sink and can be backfilled more in a year to make it seem even more dwarf.

One advantage of growing coconuts in pots if you can keep them alive

Does he pollinate and isolate the fruiting clusters to assure true to type plants? There are so many coconuts in Florida the chance of open pollination would seem very likely. I gathered 50 sprouted coconuts from a 30 acre grove which seemed to be of very homogenous Maypan trees but am seeing some variation, at least in color.
