Agreed, I was just trying to line something up in the meantime. Can I ask what you have that could be made available?

Tropical Fruit Buy, Sell & Trade / WTB: Cherimoya (Annona cherimola) scions
« on: February 07, 2022, 12:39:56 PM »
I'm looking for just a couple cherimoya scions for my rootstock. Anything approximately Sharpie marker sized or slightly bigger would be great. Looking for atypical  but not necessarily new varieties (e.g. NOT el bumpo, booth, pierce, etc.) I only need a couple for my little starter tree. TIA!

« on: February 28, 2021, 01:12:43 PM »
I haven't been able to find any Plinia (Jaboticaba) scions in any of the usual places. I'm interested in different varieties; chopstick or pencil sized cuttings. I am NOT looking for the following, but almost anything else is definitely is on the table. Please let me know if you can part with even just 1 scion.

P. jaboticaba 'Sabara'
P. cauliflora x aureana (Red)
P. sp. 'Grimal'
P. coronata
P. grandiflora
P. peruviana/trunciflora
P. phitrantha
P. spiritosantensis

Thanks!

« on: April 07, 2019, 12:55:43 AM »
I'd like to buy a Hexachlamys edulis; any size with shipping to CA. Thanks in advance.

Annie's Annuals has them too, small plants in 4" pots, but the price is right and they grow fast.

Thanks! Bought a pair.

I've had no luck finding Ugni molinae (Chilean Guava/Strawberry Myrtle) online or in stores. If you have one or more (any size) you're willing to part with, please reply or contact me.  Thanks!

I'm interested in purchasing Plinia/Jaboticaba scions. I have a large P. cauliflora that I will be using as the stock. The only kinds I don't need are Grimal, P. vexator (blue), White, and Red. Thanks in advance.

Tropical Fruit Buy, Sell & Trade / Re: Sale: anona scions

PM sent, and thanks for the opportunity to diversify my collection!

I have a peanut butter fruit (bunchosia argentea) tree with very yellow leaves. Some eventually wither and turn brown. It has been very slow growing so far. Any suggestions for greening it up are appreciated. Stats: 4' tall, 1" thick trunk, part sun, 75°F temps during the day, soil pH 7.0.

I've fertilized and added chelated iron to no effect.

My collection is conspicuously devoid of any Atrocarpus plants, so I'm seeking recommendations for Jackfruit varieties and/or other related species. I'm interested in sweet and low latex fruiting types, but also vigorous, compact, and hardy plants. I'm in CA, Zone 11b. TIA.

Interested in acquiring Annona crassifolia in any form (plant, scion, seed); no luck finding it anywhere on the net so far. Thanks for any information leading the to capture of A. crassifolia.

Does anyone have any solid recommendations for reference/encyclopedia books for exotic fruit; even better for Annona fruits?

Someone in San Pedro grew what looked like pulasan in there yard, person worked for the ILWU. They brought some fruit to my old work to try, I tried some it was juicy and sweet and did not look like a lychee. I never got to see the tree though.

Interesting. Thanks for the glimmer of hope.

Both pulasan and rambutan are tropicals and are not going to be hardy in California. In order to grow either you will need a greenhouse with controlled temperatures, solar exposure, and humidity.

Yes, I understand, but in the off-chance that anyone in CONUS has one that has survived beyond being a seedling, then I am interested. My temps don't go much below 50°F in the winter, so I'm looking to push it a bit.

I'm looking for a Nephelium mutabile (Pulasan) that is California hardy and not a seedling. I'd settle for a good-size, hardy Nephelium lappaceum (Rambutan). Thanks in advance for any offers or tips.
