Flush now
« on: May 10, 2019, 03:27:59 PM »
Second flush taking place now. First flush was Feb. Second is usually August. 3rd in Oct. Only reason I can see for early 2nd flush is an abundance of rain and warmer temps. Any other ideas?

Could easily be because of the weather, however, most citrus normally have 3 flushes per year.  I have on several occasions had trees with 5 flushes per year by heating the soil with an electric heating cable, and lighting during the short days of winter.

My key limes flush all the time and flower continuously. Others depend on the season.
I found that a high N urea fertiliser induces flushes coupled with a cytokinin spray.

I had a second flush start a few weeks ago, but it was a small flush.  I seem to remember last years second flush was more substantial.
