Hi DurianLover,
Another two more, that's truly awesome 8) Those huge trees will definitely supplement the income for the owner...which is great. Guard shelters is also common in Southeast Asia and the durian is also used as bait to attract animals to get hunted. Apart from the stainless sheets...if i remember correctly, in Malaysia when monkeys are damaging the crop, they catch an individual monkey and paint him/her...to chase the troop away from the plantation...since the family doesn't  recognize this individual ;D way better than killing them :)
Time is like a river.
You cannot touch the same water twice, because the flow that has passed will never pass again.
Enjoy every moment of your life!

huertasurbanas  - please submit a picture that includes tropical/subtropical fruit(s), your entry falls a tad short if that's your purpose.

Hi, today I took photos to a 50 or so years old feijoa we found in my city, Junin, Buenos Aires, Argentina... it's 6 metters tall.

Does it matter if the fruit is, or is not, grown by the person submitting the photograph?

Why? Are fruits better on the other side of the fence?

Nah, just thinking ahead, just in case my stuff is not mango-winning quality, I'll have to snoop around people's yard.  ;D

As Adam stated earlier in tbis thread, shipping a mango into the state of Florida is a nono...therefore if Tim is doing the right thing, the Floridians are not eligible for the prize.

By the way, Tim, I like your photo of the dragonfruit...simple, vibrant and well done.  Would look evn better with a glossy black background.

I was hesitating between a photo of a young Kampong Mauve and that of a pomegranate (unknown variety) but since time is running out, here goes:

To me, this is just a cluster of J31 Jakfruits. Others see something more suggestive.........
