Recently bought my first fig Ge neri and was wondering if it could grow in heavy red clay? Like Georgia red clay.

Fig roots are indestructible, will even try to grow on concrete. So yeah, no problem.

As long as the area does not get stagnated in winter, shouldn't be any problem. Would encounter the typical problems with clay and deficiencies but figs stand it perfectly. In any case is a good moment to improve the granulometry and organic matter in  the soil
