Title: Any good thornless lemon trees?

My wife is loves lemon's however i refuse to get them cause of the thorns. Recently I heard that they have thornless versions, are they any good? and what kinds are available? also anyone know of anyone who sells good thornless cocktail trees in the tri county area of dade broward and palm beach?

I think Meyer Lemon might be the closest to "nearly thornless" you might find? Occasionally my dwarf Meyer get them. I think its not as bad as most lemon trees...but Meyer lemon is not a true lemon..I believe its a cross between a mandarin/orange and a lemon? More like a sour orange than lemon... Maybe someone knows of a thornless true lemon variety out there...

Yep, I vote for Meyer and the thornless lime.  I have both.  Many consider Meyer a "gourmet" lemon.  Chefs/cooks love them.  If you need more coldhardiness and dwarfness, make sure they're on Flying Dragon rootstock.

I have a Meyer great taste very prolific sets fruit several times a year. Leaf miners don't seem to like it much. I really like this lemon. I got one more on Flying dragon root stock that is doing very well growing very strong in  pot. I'm pruning it to keep it tight and removing all fruit it sets until it gets 4 ft high.

I have a thorn less key lime. Has not set any fruit so far.

My thornless key lime is loaded.  Been fighting a mild case of zinc and manganese deficiency with the DeltaAg Plus products.  They're great.   Apparently Zn and Mn deficiencies in citrus is quite widespread in Florida.

You must have something the CLMs really like better. Nine out of ten CLMs prefer the Meyer at my place (did a poll).

May be, a Yuzu  Sour Orange. sour orange seedlings  and a Seville Sour orange they seem to get all the  CLM attention.  I sprayed iminacloprid  and also drench them. Lets see what happens. I'm also trying coffee grounds.

I'm not growing any of those.

Spinosad and neem alternating weeks seems to be preferred plan by most of the citrus growers.
