I am planning to give my dad a Maha Chanok mango. Can it be grown in a big pot? Thanks.

bigalxx15, what do you use as a potting mix for that tree? Did you always pot it up progressively or did you just put it in the 45-gal container? How long has it been in the 45-gal container and how old is the tree? Thanks!

I use Fafard 3B mix and I usually add a few worm castings, Azomite, and a handful of perlite to the mix. This tree was purchased as a 25 gal. and was stepped up the next year to a 45 gal., it has been in that pot for over 2 years. I would estimate that the tree is probably  4 to 5 years old.
