A blow gun is silent and cheap and easy to shoot

Good hunting

Picked my last Phoenix

I had all but decided to cull it due to its problems with pm

It also gets stinky foot taste and smell when left to over ripen. Firm mango that will be late if you wait till it softenes

Through all that it made my top five this year

Wonderfully complex firm and rich with everything from floral to citrus

So it stays

Orange sherbet
Lemon zest
Sugarloaf
Coconut cream
Sweet tart
Are some of the top tier

Angie doesn't have that wow factor needed to reach top tier

Some over  ripe mangos can develop stinky foot taste and smell

The Phoenix is a wonderful complex mango but over ripe it's bad and you can smell it

Still in my top five this year cause on the money it's a great mango

I planted mine in a plastic orange crate to keep it from spreading

Even the roots have thorns

Even contained the fruit wasn’t worth the stickers

13
Try cuttings

Have what looks like pond apple growing up from root stock of lllama

Cut it off and stuck in ground and it rooted easily without any other care cause I thought there was no chance

Are you using nitrogen based fertilizer

If so change over to potassium based fertilizer

Glass method is you cut off the cheeks of the mango and then using a glass you peel out the fruit

Big fruit doesn’t take long to process

YouTube video somewhere

The only reason I bought a Tebow was the write up on pine islands website.

I was very happy with my Fairchild and was looking to add

Had never heard about Young being the original name until I was already enjoying the fruit

For a newbie it’s easy to grow without spraying

Pine Island still sells Tebow but now relates the original name on the website

The renaming has caused a ton of trees sold when it was all but forgotten before

If I ever sell some fruit I know what name I’m using

I have a young/ tebow and use them as my freezer mango

The size and quality of the fruit after thawing is a big plus

Can use the glass method to process the fruit for freezing also

We use them for ice cream and cooking

Have mango that tastes better but they never make the freezer

18
Coconut Cream can over do it if too ripe

The coconut flavor taste is more chemical at that point

Very good flavor till that point

I live ten miles from the magic kingdom and it’s very hot and muggy mid state with cold wet conditions in spring

The cotton candy has been flawless so far with no spraying

My first mangos are on it now and just waiting to ripen

Dropped cc substantialy in my rating

Doc Campbell is a grower that selected types from Gary Zill  who is a nurseryman and creater of
most types discussed

So Doc got fruit before Zills was finished with trials so Doc named it before it was ready for the public and named by Zills

I have a kathy bought from Zills so that is what it is

There is a funk taste in Angie that some taste and some don’t

More taste it as it ripens and gets funkier

It’s like cilantro where the brain of some cause it to taste like soap while others are loving it.

So if I pass on your Angie they all taste like crap to me
