Title: ELEVEN years waiting for my sweetheart

I toyed with the idea of chopping my sweetheart after it was in the ground a number of years, and BSBULLIE (Rob) advised me to have patience with the sweetheart.

Well, I'm FINALLY done waiting, I ate so many today after a 6 mile bike ride I have a stomach ache! :-)

They're nice and BIG many larger than a ping-pong ball. Just when my GF goes out of town for 2 weeks, she can't have any.

Thanks for the advice Rob!

Anyway, I have a question, how long will they keep in the fridge?

Freeze them unpeeled and defrost them when needed quick in the water.

Will definitely try that. I had mine in the fridge for 2 weeks now, still tastes good, skin is is getting brownish.

Good news. Mine has had a weird problem with dropping 95% of its crop when bb sized. Was told that it is due to dryness... I had an OK flowering this year, but almost all of the fruit aborted.

Wow took eleven years to produce fruit? you are much more patient than I am LOL

I just planted a 7 Gal Airlayered Lychee last year , this year 8 harvested delicious sweet fruit !
I feel fortunate as I compare Lychee reports from the forum .

I though5 I was a Sweetheart, but the forum Members Identified it as Mauritius, delicious fruit !

I was going to pull it out , but after tasting the fruit it’s a keeper 👍

I have a huge Brewster tree (taller than my roof top) and it has hundreds of fruit each year. I like the taste of it, but it does have large seeds.
Recently purchased a sweetheart and emperor but it will be years before I get any fruit on those. Never tasted a sweetheart or emperor.
