Cutting Diagnosis
« on: August 23, 2021, 07:26:51 AM »
Hola everyone,

I received some Sanbokan lemon cuttings (questionable quality) and stuck a few in for rooting. After 4 days, three of them looked like this (pictures).

Is this mold/fungus? Or maybe some sort of small insect? I could have sworn one had fuzzy mycelium hairs on it but after handling, they aren't there.

Any guesses or thoughts would be appreciated!

For the record, I quarantined those cuttings and washed the rest of the cuttings around them with a dilute H2O2 soln followed by careful application of horticultural oil.

Thanks!
pp

They are rotten, toss them. When I root cuttings I wipe them down with alcohol & either wrap them or place a plastic bag over the container to keep them moist.

Cut the bottom at a 45 degree angle & dip them in rooting hormone.

I agree with Laaz,  no use bothering with those cuttings, they are too far gone.
