Can you open the fruit so we can see its sex appeal, cause right now it does not look so edible or sexy enough for prime time! :D

Dada

Please open the fruit and show the inside of it.

How is the taste?

How is its germination behavior ?

This could be Duguetia uniflora

PM sent

Hi ,
Here an opened Duguetia uniflora. The taste is quite nice, very creamy and sweet. The thing I still have to figure out is when is the best harvesting time, Regarding germination I cannot say anything yet :)

Second photo is not Duguetia. It looks like opened A. scleroderma. Very strange...

Dada, I also am surprised that the second photo is "Duguetia" because it looks like Annona to me too.

What seeds are you offering actually, from the first or second photo?

Also it seems overripened wild Rollinia fruit.

Alex; well - I see the unanswered questions heaps up. I have been communicating with Dada Vidyananda since 2007 or so - and have received seeds from him correctly identified as A. spraguei. I believe he gets fruit seeds from different sources and trades them.

Seeds photo would help. Duguetia seeds are significantly different from the Annona and Rollinia seeds.

Dada is not a scammer and has been generous with me.He travels through south and central America and returns to India every so often so might not be able to communicate as regularly as many people would like.I believe he sources seeds through various means including visiting source areas.

Species in this Family are not easy to identify just look at cross-genera jumping of well known species.I have had trouble even pinning what common species like Annona dulcis looks like. The inside of that fruit does look Annona/Rollinia and the outside looks Duguetia.Duguetia seems to be quite diverse in form and usually has little flesh. From the seeds I have seen only D.lanceolata and D.furfuracea have seeds that I would say can be distinguished from Annona/Rollinia andthe other 4 looked like Annona.

The fruit in the photo looks good and it might take an expert looking at flowers, fruit and foliage to be sure.Itlooks like a good fruit regardless.

Off course Dada is not a scammer. He is a very good friend, and man of God and a lover of nature and plants. He visited us several times these years in Brazil, and we trade a lot. Sometimes he is too much enthusiastic* and also could be wrong  identifying plants or he could be in the jungle and not able to reply, but that gives no one the right to call him a scammer!!

** One time in the Rio Botanical Garden he was SO happy collecting seeds and fruits that we almost ended in jail LOL

Carlos what is the fruit in your profile shot?

To my south american chums here who are waiting forever for my parcels to come by pony express or don't even show up,sorry about that. The fruits season will start here soon with the arrival of the rainy season and I will mailby express, registered or whatever means I can so good species make it.Some parcels will have trees of fruiting age by now if they ever turn up.

The picture was more Pierre Cardin than Interpol.
