What’s wrong with my purple mangosteen?
« on: February 03, 2020, 11:27:53 AM »
For some reason its new leaf growth is weird. It’s almost as if it is covered in some wax or sap that restricts the leaf’s expansion and growth.

I don't know the exact reasoning behind it but I had a garcinia that was sent to me from an area which had a more tropical climate than mine and the first few flushes of new growth the exact same thing happened to the leaves. It has no normalised and the leaves are coming out in perfect shape.

The older leaves also don't look so healthy.

Looks like it has burned tips possibly from salt burn and also looks chlorotic.
Whats the ph of the soil?Might need to lower the ph if its too high or spray the leaves with iron solution for a fast fix ( for chlorosys).

For salt burn, you can soak the pot for an hour in a bath filled with water ( ideally rain water or reverse osmosis water ) and you can also add a spoon or 2 of gypsum on top of the pot or in the water you soak the pot.
