The new hybrid cross I am thinking of naming it Willandolphsnob so you know its develop in Boca Raton. Will have a sweetness of sarakwakensis with a mule sour kick of Landolphia Senegalensis on the back note, rich in fiber and easy on the fart!😝Send pm with your address and phone number to orderOk just did for Willughbeia angustifolia Maryto , look like I am picking up . Pickup the Willighbeia Sarakwakensis this morning, these got to be the freshest willughbeia I have ever bought from any other members here beside Dorgon at Scambay(which explain why they sprouted me nothing but disappointment ). These seed were Giantnourmous compare to what I have received in past). DurianLover mention orange Sherbet taste; I sniff and it smell orangy citrusy and I thought maybe popping it in my mouth for a taste; but the thought of "Maryoto's Grandma with no teeth nibling on them to clean the seeds and popping them in the EMS bag", I had to battle the will of temptation to enjoy its orange marmalade promise and struggle with duress for the near future!😋

Thank you maryoto seeds arrived fresh, good job shipping. You're welcome my friend
Maryoto,
Yesterday I received the package of seeds that I ordered and they were possibly the best packaged and labeled seeds that I've ever received from a seller outside of the U.S.
I would definitely purchase from you again and I highly recommend you to everyone. I got my seeds in less than two weeks and everything looked in excellent condition.
And now Sheehan will proceed to killing of the seeds/plants.

Yeah, i agree. All praises to Maryoto. But Doni has been just as great. Both highly recommended. I love these Indonesian members! Not only great packing and service, but they are giving us access to seeds extremely difficult to find! For example, these two nephelium species: xerospermoides and juglandifolim. BTW, you can read about them in Prosea book.
New species added.
If any one know the species that i don't know, please let me know.

Thanks Maryoto's Grandma for providing me with a taste, tart just like it African cousin the Landophia Senegalensis. I am discovering that Landophilia is more cold hardier than Willughbeia so far during our cold child here in Boca Raton, Florida .

Maryoto is a genuine, reasonable and friendly member in the forum.Thank you very much my friend
Sumatraexotics posted similar and indicated that this could be kesusu's brother. Ripe fruit is blackish, not orange/red.The photos that i posted yesterday is unripe fruits, i was not able to get the ripe fruits because the tree are really high.
Hi my Friends...The taste is sweet my friend, with a slightly sour taste
How to taste prainea limpato? sweet or sour? If sweet then it is Prainea Limpato. It is very difficult to distinguish between Limpato and his brother, just out of a sense we can know.

Maryoto this Mangosteen Sp. Fruits Look like the japanese mangosteen foto at scambay & the Dorgon Monster was passing it as a two years producing mangosteen from seed. Awhile back it caused several residential garcinia experts of this site untold insomnia, lost of appetite and possibly excessive farting over this mysterious beast suppose to be create by Thai Scientist out looking for Godzilla. Your descriptions of sweeter & bigger fruit definitely match the debate a flame back! Hey if this variety fruit from seed in two years; you need to quadrouple the price charge please per seeds!😄Hi Jack,
Thanks😄 Mr. Maryoto...Thank you my friend

Hi Maryoto,You're welcome my friend.
A small note to let you know your seeds arrived in good condition and well packed, thank you.
Maryoto, I was just browsing, trying to know more about fruits that exists all around the world, when found the following pages, talking about fruits from Phillipines, Indonésia and nearest places:Hello my friend,
http://www.phytoimages.siu.edu/imgs/benctan/r/Meliaceae_Chisocheton_patens_35316.html (http://www.phytoimages.siu.edu/imgs/benctan/r/Meliaceae_Chisocheton_patens_35316.html)

Based upon these photos, looks like the Chisocheton Patens can be a good canditate for paisagism, but I´m interested in the fruits. After to extend the search, I don´t found any information about them, nor if they are edible or not.
Do you have information about them?
In advance, thank you!
Shocking news:: I tried to contact Mr. Leonardo, which the e-mail is listed in those pages, but received this answer:
"I am sorry to write you that I can not help you with the question raised for the plant pictures in Meliaceae which you asked me. Mr. Leonardo is dead for thee years after he was shot dead by a Philippine military officer in the rainforest when he was collecting plant." Sadly, viollence is all around these days. :(
In any case, the person who answered my email forwarded it to a taxonomist. Maybe he can answer my questions about the fruit.
Haha you kidding me my friend. My Maryoto

Maryoto, wild mangosten (selabi) seeds are available? I´m talking about this fruit:
http://www.mysabah.com/wordpress/wild-mangosteen-of-borneo/ (http://www.mysabah.com/wordpress/wild-mangosteen-of-borneo/)
Is it a self-fertile species? The tree don´t appears to be so high as the popular mangosten, right? The fruit has indeed a good taste?
If seeds are available, whats the price? :)
Maryoto,Hi Mike,
There is much diversity of pometia in and around new guinea and some look just the same as those.

Are the elongated mangosteens more acidic than normal mangosteens and are the leaves on the trees smaller?

Hi Maryoto,Not too large trees my friend, maybe about 6-7 metres.
Do you have any information on the Xanthophyllum tree? Are they large trees?
Thanks!
Hello my friend,
Like Jack(Coconut) said, Selabi or wild mangosteen are Willughbeia angustifolia.
I'm wondering why malaysian peoples call it wild mangosteen.
In fact, it tastes much different from the mangosteen.
It's a vine, but can be grow to be very big vine.
Crystal fruits is Pometia pinnata or called Kasai in local language.
I'm not really sure whether those species are monoic or dioic.
Torok is Mundar in bakumpai language.
It might be garcinia forbesii.
Unfortunately, the torok and willughbeia season has ended...don't have the seeds anymore, sorry.
About kasai, you can see my post at front page.

Differences duku, langsat, and " Sent to: Coconut on: March 25, 2015, 03:07:28 AM » ReplyQuoteDelete
Differences Duku, Langsat, and Kokosan fruits
Duku (Lansium domesticum var. duku)
Duku tree has many branches spreadly, abundant leaves with bright green color. Fruit bunch is relatively short with less fruits compared to langsat or kokosan. The fruit is big, tends to round, thick-skinned tend not sticky when it is ripe. Generally, small seeds and fleshy thick. The taste is usually sweet after ripening and smell nice.
Langsat (L. domesticum var. domesticum)
Langsat tree has less branches and relatively vertical, less abundant leaves with dark green color than duku. The fruit bunch is relatively long and abundant fruits (10 – 25 fruits), oval acute to the stalk fruit shape with leather thin, always gummy (though ripe), watery flesh with a sweet flavor and refreshing. The taste is usually sweet with little sour. One distinguishing feature of the Langsat fruit is not durable after being picked. In three days, the skin will turn black (although not affect the taste) but it looks unattractive.
Kokosan (L. domesticum var. aquaeum)
Kokosan tree almost same as duku, more abundant leaves, leaf surface is hairy. The fruits are little, less gummy, abundant and close each others. The fruits stick firmly to the bunch although they have matured. Fruit skin is thin and dark yellow color, attached stickly to the flesh that difficult to peel. The flesh color is redish yellow, watery, and thin. The seeds are relatively big. One eats the fruit by bitten or pressed by fingers and put into mouth, sucked its flesh water with seed come out and swallowed them. You should not bit the seed because all Lansium seeds are bitter taste. The taste is usually sour until very sour.
Therefore, the duku is the most favorite compared to langsat and kokosan fruit."
Beni Duku Palembang should arrive tomorow & I was debating whether Your Langsat Duku??? Or Giant Langsat??? Should be added to my ever expanding Langsat Duku Forest Collection?😃

I ever see duku and langsat. I ever compare them. For taste, duku sweet and langsat dominan sour. For size, duku bigger than langsat. And for seed, duku bigger size than langsat seed. But kokosan i never eat and see, so i dont have opinion about it. For Giant Langsat Mr. Maryoto, i am sure Mr. Maryoto have many information and can explain all. Because Mr. Maryoto is Master fruit from Indonesia. Hehe ;) :DThank you Beni.

Seeds Arrive Maryoto, for future send all the willughbeia seeds in moist sphagnum moss (not coconut coir which dessicate the seeds) and dont let your grandma clean the seeds! They germinate best for oversea voyage by leaving fruit flesh on as to wiping them clean like landolphia/saba that evolve in arid savanah Africa which give me 100% germination whether flesh rotted on or clean dry like a peanut!Hi Jack,
Many members who have bought from you and other Indonesian sellers have reported that they have all rotted! The seeds you send to me with flesh on germinate 100%!! It seem that these willughbeias evolve in a wet non African arid savanah environment and the recalcitrant nature half life decay faster as the seeds are clean dry & send on longer voyage; even in an Italian Shit meatball perform uninspiring miracles!
Sadly seeds that germinated in ISMB 💩💩attracted an unknown aliens that consume them! Many members reported they have aliens abducting willughbeia seeds in the night, next morning the pot has nothing short of a crop circle in the potting soil!👽👽 So next year Willughbeia Seed Season which are superrecalcitrant should be send un clean or deflesh, not clean by your grandma, Maryoto!😆 This Way Willughbeia will have better chance to spread beyond your Village into the Western Hemisphere!😆👍👍👍
I have similar experiences, I bought w. sarawakensis, angustifolia and tampirik from 3 sources in this forum, but all seeds rotted once sown.Sorry about the seeds, my friend.
I have all three Willughbeia's with a total of 18 seeds, 17 germinated!Congratulation for your Willughbeia's.

Are your seeds being inspected? You should know that seeds with pulp are not allowed into USA. Also germinated seeds not allowed with small seed lot permit, they need to have a phyto certificate from sender. So things being suggested won't work unless Maryoto can obtain a phyto sanitary certificate from his agriculutral department?

Like i said before, all plants and seedling require a phyto sanitary certificate to enter USA. The buyer also needs to have a plant import permit, but that by itself is not enough. Both a phyto and a plant permit are needed.
