What's wrong with my plant?
« on: May 29, 2019, 09:58:04 AM »
This is a supposed US852. All new growth is yellowish and is barely growing. What is it?

A few weeks ago I repotted it and fertilized it. No reaction.
I haven't found any pests except a few brown spots.

I thought of that too, but I didn't find any obvious damage. The roots seemed to be in order.
I`ll check again.

Best I can tell you at this point is try rinsing the roots in a diluted hydrogen peroxide / water mixture & replant in new soil.

I've never seen yellow citrus flowers before.

That's not flowers, it's new growth.

As it is new growth I think it is a nutrition problem,.

I have had certain limbs show small and yellow growth after cold damage, but never the entire tree.

May be some type of disease. Where did it come from & was it grown from seed or did you buy the plant?

I cannot tell. Poncirus or Citrumelo I guess.

I have a large plant of poncirusXSunki hybrid in the ground, its new growth is always pale, but becomes green with the time.
Could be a general feature of citrandarins , since Z253 in a pot also has initially a very pale  growth.

This is a root problem. Even though you inspected the roots visually.
I have 3 pt that I got from someone last year. I washed the roots and changed the soil early in the spring. The leaves look exactly the same. It seems like nitrogen is not absorbed by the roots.
One of the pots I sprayed it with urea low-b after few times the leaves turned dak green.

What is urea low-b? Couldn`t find it with google. Did you spray the roots or the leaves?
Thank you!

Low biuret urea, you can spray leaves safely at 1500 ppm, 25% of the nitrogen is absorbed whithin an hour. Spray in evening and don't allow direct sun for 2 days after. Mist with water daily several times.
Correcting the N in leaves makes the plant to produce more sugars and others which in turn feed the root development and defense system. This is because of higher photosynthesis.

I spray my trees 3 times a year with low biuret urea.  I have never withheld the trees from the sun light the following day, and have never seen a problem.  A light misting would be good .  Doing so will increase the urea up take by the tree.
