Why Graft That?

Thinking of grafting everything!  From Cherapu, to  bamboo!!!!

Tell me what strange stuff you are thinking of grafting and why?

here's a short list of stuff for me

Passion fruit (not strange really)
Papaya
Fig (already done quite a few, very easily)

Because I'm stupid and crazy, I'd also like to graft,
Palms
and
Bananas

but I'm not sure it's possible.

Banana grafting I've seen, not Palm ... at least not yet.

WOW... really!? You've seen banana's grafted?! I didn't think that was possible! I thought they were too soft to graft... how is it possible?

how bout grafting  algae and orchids...and sod...haha!

my lawn would be zoysia on Bahia rootstock.

Papayas are being grafted on commertial scale in some places...

the monocotyledons haven`t got cambium vascular if not have cambium not is possible to graft. palms and bananas are monocots. haven`t got secondary growth.

dicotyledonous have cambium vascular therefore secondary growth, papaya is dicotyledonous.

Howdy Folks,

I planted a super vigorous, late fig, which has green fruits now ...I'm planning to top work this tree with my best figs. The mother tree that is in the orchard, will be removed asap, to make space for a tree...maybe, plant a black sapote, or  Canistel or grafted Lucuma or Mango.

I do remember seeing a vid of banana being grafted...don't see the logic of grafting nanners
