Big Frankie's red pitaya (dragonfruit)
« on: October 23, 2016, 09:10:36 PM »
Just picked this from my dragon fruit stand.  I got over 20 this last round on my stand. This one was my biggest yet... 12.5 ounces.   So delicious!  If your not growing this variety you define it should!  Top tier

With 3 acres of prime real estate for growing tropicals... why not create my own garden of eden?? Work in progress

I get a few giant ones every year.  Best thing about Frankie's Red in my opinion is that it ripens between the regular( red, magenta, purple, white) varieties and the H/S Megalanthus Yellows. I get DF nearly year round.  This year, my vine produced about 60 fruit, many were small. The rats ate at least half my crop as you can see in this picture.
