Cold front?  Polar Vortex??  Armageddon???  Ha!  It's 83 degrees right now in my backyard in Plantation, FL.  A/C is blasting.  And I see the weather gurus changed the expected morning low from low 40's to 50 degrees.

You're SO lucky Carbo...living in zone 10b during an Arctic blast does have it glory.

I love colder air in winter...just NOT Arctic air or anything below 35 degrees!!

Pug...are you able to erect any shelters around your plants like Sleepdoc did with his breadfruit?  I know he had to work quickly this time around, but I bet the structures could be improved upon down the road to enable you to easily cover and uncover when needed.

Hi Jay!! Sorry to say the Trees are on their own this time around...the trees are way too large/tall/wide to cover and the ones small enough (Pickering) got some Christmas lights on them and the small potted ones brought inside...

I'm hoping that we're not going to get any severe hard freeze (at least that's what I'm really hoping for). I think the bulk of the extreme Arctic air is mostly North of me...hoping for the best for ALL...

Lows for the Hillsborough county area are said to be in the low 30's, 34 to be exact.

My frost shelters are up. Was at least nice and warm with no wind yet this morning while setting them up.

Lychee barely fits! Noticed that the Manilita mango behind it is just starting to push blooms - yay!

Hoping for nothing more than a light freeze. Three bunches of bananas that fruited late are on their own - just get the shelter of the house wall.

Good luck everyone!

At 2:30 AM it's 54 degrees with 40% RH. Walked the dogs early and they loved it. Me not so much. Woof!

All plants are on their own.  Expecting a low of 59F.

50 degrees was the low here in Fort Lauderdale....Did not get nearly as cold as was earlier predicted. Very happy about that. How did everyone else in Florida do?

Low of 45 here in SW Ranches - but it was quite windy for much of the night. Need to check the thermometer in the back of my property today to see how low the "cold spot" was in the unprotected area of my yard.

Was just going to ask the same questions, and how much did you pay for them?

Six AM was 48 deg.  Looks like that's it.  Tomatoes, peppers, parsley ok.  Basil too.

Dogs love it.  They keep asking to go out again.

Central Florida here. 33.5 was the low at my house. Really weird as local news channels were forecasting 6-8 hour hard freeze for this location. Thats quite the fail. Oh well,  it was a good dry run.  It makes me want to run out and buy more mangoes. :) I hope everyone else did ok.

The temperature has been hovering between 38o and 39o for the last hour and the sun is finally coming out from behind some clouds. It's still windy too.
