I asked a Cuban friend and he said the word Criollo generally means something or someone native born in Cuba(Mamey is the national fruit.), so in this case it is just a native unnamed variety from a seedling. Growing Mamey is an exercise in patience, if you could get a grafted tree it would be faster to fruit you may wait 7 years or more for a seedling to bear. That may be your only option overseas.

Criollio is also a common Mexican avocado of different sizes and colors mainly from the state of Nuevo Leon, Mexico.  Lady has offered to get me scions but the logistics of getting them over is no bueno.
