Adding jiló https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scarlet_Eggplant

Jiló (solanum gilo)
20 seeds (USD 5)
40 seeds (USD 8 )
60 seeds (USD 11)
I saw jilos for sale in Rio de Janeiro farmer's market, but did not get to taste them. How is the taste? Did you like them?

I tasted a ripe jilo, red colour, not green as they consume it at Brazil, I boiled it for 15 minutes. The taste was very good, comparable to a mix between sweet potato and potato, not too bitter, just fine. I liked it more than any eggplant.

Today I was eating one of the late sete capotes of this season and I found a very jaboticaba like flavour! so this was the known flavour that I was missing on it, and near the skin it is similar to guaviyú, it has of course that myrtaceae flavours you can feel at strawberry guava and other fruits from this family.

One of my 2 bearing sete capotes plants stopped fruiting (60cm tall) but the other (3m tall) is still flowering and fruiting, so the season may extend for 3 months or more.

Adding psidium australe

Hi, this one was a surprise: I thought it would ripe later, but yesterday I found a fruit in the floor, so it was ripe and very good taste, maybe a mix of guava and strawberry guava, very good, no worms.

Frost resistance: -5º C or more. Hardy to drought too, but it prefers good watering.

* Araçá do folha marrom / arazá mirí (psidium australe)
10 seeds: 16 USD

(I have just 10 seeds for now)

See more details here:

Adding: Angola guava

Many guavas measure 7º to 10º Brix (http://www.santosfood.nl/?action=viewArt&cid=425&aid=146&lid=2), but this one is 13º Brix. The man who gave me the seeds 3 years ago told me it was the best he had (and he grows 10 varieties)

Angola guava (psidium guajava) (New, march 2017)
20 seeds (USD 8 )
40 seeds (USD 15)
80 seeds (USD 28)

It is more sweet than acid, but it has a nice acid touch, better than my paraguayan guavas and similar to the white asian guava, but with more seeds.

Hi, just for the record: psidium eugeniaefolia is bearing fruits again, it produced 2 batches of fruits, one in the middle of the summer, and other in the beginning of the autumn. Eugenia repanda is doing so too, sete capotes floweres till some days ago, and mycia selloi is still bearing, it also has green fruits on it.

Yes i had similar experience. The seeds did finally show up. Just took almost a month to get here. But they were all still in good shape, with the ones in moistened moss starting to germinate.

Thanks for reporting.

I hope all of you can grow them just fine... my main pourpose is to spread useful species and some of them should be saved from extinction.

Today I sent 3 more mails.

As soon as I get more seeds/species I will post in the forum, but this will be most likely by next spring, we are on autumn now; I am still eating some myrcia selloi, eugenia repanda, there is 1 psidium australe in the bush and sete capotes is still flowering and bearing just a few.

I am about to get many new species, some of them unknown eugenias and psidium.
