welcome to okeechobee forestplanter.
i  came from Palm Beach county 20 years ago with a truck load of fruit trees
and did well until 2009 and 2010. i had temps below 20 degrees and lost
a lot of plants.Jabotacabas longan and others survived I have been doing
 well sense then.Don't give up .

hello RS, I have a 6 ft wampee in a 3 gal pot which lost all of i'ts leaves from the januray freeze
    it is now coming back all over with leaves. i woud give it some more time.

MIKE , after using my glasses. I agree I can see that it is not bignay but in the famaly of wax jambu or malay apple

Mike , I have anidesma  or bignay now that looks some what like those leaves .

 I was born in west Palm Beach In 1935 where my grandparents lived since 1900.
The Haden mango tree that was in the yard before I was born is still there.
   good life , I've eaten many mangoes

I have seen this fruit in the poisonous section at the Mounts botanical garden .I would be careful
before eating. It does not look like a natal plum,carissa grandiflora

Adam, the plate looks fit for a king. The fingersop , is that the meiogyne cylindrocarpa ? I had some only it turned out to be rollina instead. Do they
look alike? .I am suprised to see mulberrys this time of the year. Good looking plate.

I had a 600 ft hedge, I would walk along and taste each one.
 the taste varied from not so good to very good
   mix them together they made good wine.
    I now have a 50 ft , 10 feet high hedge for a wind brake.
It did well when the temperature went below 20 degrees.

The main thing with acerola is the vitamin C content . How do they taste?

I had seedlings from the tree at the mounts garden. When Walt Lyford from pine island was giving a grafting demo he gave me bud wood
and I  grafted 8 -  12 inch seedlings . 4 cliff and 4 side veneer. ,7 took until a cold winter 20 degrees did them in .I now have some for a few years
without any problem.I have also air-layered them without a problem

I have had no success air layering  nor have I cleft graffs, but I have had good luck with side veneir graffs On pencil size or less 3 or 4 inches long
The branches have a zig zag shape so try to line up sion to the shape of the branch. Good luck.

Back in the 70's Mechanics Ilistrated Mag had plans to build a dome .I had metal
templates that I connected with 8 foot 2x4's and covered with visqueen. It keep my plants warm
It was a great project. Buckminster was a hero .Read about Bucky balls.
 Back in the 70's , I think we are dating our selvs

Adam  The grafted Biriba-- Rollinia deliciosa--, that i got from you at the Manitee plant sale
last may, is doing well.It is about seven feet tall in a 10 gal pot. It has a few branches about 5 feet
up . I plan to pug it just above the branches . no flowers yet . Will keep you posted.

Wash and chush fruit (about 1 qt.) . Add1 cup water. Boil and thensimmer about 10 mins.
Sive to remove seeds.

From Cloosa rare fruit exchange . for jelly use under ripe fruit  for jelly. For jam
   4 C pulp
   4 C sugar
   2 T lime juice
   Combine ingredients and cook slowly until it thickens and holds shape.

I want to try more variaties,but I just made a mulberry pie from a potted mulberry
label Thai from excaliber. A fast growing tree. It was as good as any I had when I was
a kid in Palm Beach in the 1940s

I just picked 25 fruit from my grimal .I left 3 on that had not fully ripend .I lost about 10 to birds
It's hard to wait. I now have flowers on a unkone jaboticaba tree ,this is the first time.the flowers
are smaller than gimal there is no loose bark.The leaves are different from other jabos
the tree has lost many leaves ,but are now coming out with new leavs. I will take pictures
I hope it will set fruit
