Folks, does his offer of Garcinia prainiana really look like that species, the "button mangosteen"?

Or is it another species?

I was thinking the same thing...the praniana I have doesn't have such a big top..unless those are the unpollinated flower buds of other fruits stuck to the fruit.  The pic is blurry for me..is there a button on the bottom?  Variation?

Micah & Kapiak

Hi guys,
Once I got the post from you and some members,i'm looking for the information but i don't find pieces of information what fruit that i have.
Now i'm doubt if what I have is Garcinia prainiana.
I thought it was Garcinia priniana.
The fruit that I have not like Garcinia, is similar mangostana fruit but has a yellow color.
Although this fruit has a sweet taste, but the taste is very different from the mangostana.

I'll try to take a picture of leaves and tree tomorrow.

Maryoto, you screwed up your images somehow, I see you added "Unknown Garcinia Species", could you please add a picture of this so someone can indentify it? I might be interested in seeds for it once it gets indentified.

Hi guys,

After looking for information, I finally found the answer.
The fruit that was i thought Garcinia is Diospyros malabarica.
Many people here do not know this fruit, because it turns the fruit in here is already rare.
I really sorry because the fruit has been incorrectly identified.

Here is the pictures:

Selling: Yogyakarta salacca,Theobroma cacao and Mangifera Lalijiwa/M.Laurina
« Reply #64 on: January 07, 2014, 11:35:16 AM »

Not able to send the seeds to a country that has a ban on imports of seeds, because the seeds are rather large.

All orders are shipped at the buyer's risk.
Because its seeds without documents(I am not able to provide a phyto certificate, because in Indonesia will need cost about $123.99 USD for making this certificate and this certificate can only be used for one-time delivery).

Please check your laws concerning permitting and costums, unanticipated charges such as tax may apply.

Salak Pondoh ( Snake Fruit - Salacca zalacca ) - Yogyakarta Channel
Is that tree in the video?
Is it monoecious or dioecious?

Yes Mike,
In the video it is tree of pondoh salacca of Yogyakarta.
Salak Bali is monoecious.
And salacca fruit besides bali salacca,is dioecious ... so the pollinate must be supported mainly by humans.

The salacca seeds are recalcitrant, thus the seeds of the fruit should be planted immediately after the seeds removed from the fruit.
Because of that, then the seeds shipping should use perlite or vermiculite.

In because I've got 2 pieces nangkadak again, then the seeds are no longer restricted stock.
Therefore,I will do fair by lowering its price to $3 USD per one seed.

To order, send your complete address(including postal code and your phone number)
