New Profile Field! List Your Fruit Trees!
« on: January 29, 2012, 11:09:30 PM »
I added a new field to the profile section, "Fruit Trees". This was suggested by MarcoIslandMango because he thought members would like to be able to see what trees other members were growing for possible budwood exchanges. I think it was a great idea and I hope everyone likes and utilizes it. If you would like to see an example of the Fruit Tree field in action, check out my profile. To make a list like I did, whatever you want on a new line add [br] before it.

Keeps getting better and better. I thought gardenWeb was perfectly OK and good enough but I was wrong. You and PJ have kicked it up seven notches. Keep tweaking away this is your baby.....

Mura, great feature, BUT: the window to introduce the fuit trees should be much bigger, or else it is a pain if you have a bigger list of ssp and cultivars.

Thanks guys.

I've tried to make the input field larger, but was not able to. I have not tried it myself, but copy and pasting an entire list from a word document may work.

If you add [br] before each new species your list will be easier to read because each species will be on a new line.

This is excellent.  I really appreciate you being so open to the idea.  I think it'll add a lot to be able to click on a member and see what trees they're growing.

It takes a little work, but as Murahilin stated, if you use the [br] in between each entry in a notepad or other word processor with single spaces between entries, then copy and paste the whole text into the "Fruit Trees" field under the forum profile tab, it works really well!

Its pretty much a standard in any modern forum that involves collecting!

I think it's great idea also if you want to do swaps, or even visit somebody so you know what they have. I want to thank Murahilin and PJ for constantly working to improve this forum! Good job guys. Keep it up!!!

If Harry, and possibly Oscar, input their list they will probably crash the site  ;D :P

Under mangos and lychees, Harry could just list the ones he DOESN'T have!  Probably a much short list!

I did a test to see if I knew how to even do this.  Success!  Now, having added two items....the work begins.

For those who are concerned..
We have plenty of storage space for huge lists, so no excuses! Let's see your lists!!
If Harry can do it anyone can! (kidding Harry)..

At our current rate of growth we have used about 1/1000000 of the current storage space, and are locked in for years to come!

Thanks Tim. Without you and the other members it would just be Patrick and I talking to ourselves, so thanks for joining and participating!
