Since you live in Thailand. Why don't you buy a  pulasan seedling from your area, get scions from different types of pulasan from Indonesian members. Graft them and make a cocktail tree.

Because it's impossible to find a pulasan in my area, i gave up searching.

And the grafted ones i had from singapore died. Also i don't trust Singapore so much, before i went there they wrote me they had the black  pulasan seebabat but when i asked him in person he was not so sure anymore.

The pulasanpictures from Indonesia don't look as big as from Malaysia. Malaysia has the biggest ones that i can find on internet.

A grafted pulasantree from malaysia would be the ultimate but it's illegal to send tree's out of Malaysia. So maybe a member here can help me to get seeds from the big black ones. Then i can always graft onto it when it started growing.

For me namdocmai-green is still the best mango ever. I have a whopper jakrapat (Yu-wen from taiwan) on the counter now and will eat it one of these days. There are more new taiwanese mangofruits on the market now but not for sale yet. Maybe next week they said so then i can compare.

For jackfruit phet raa chaa and thong prasert rule, don't know how old these variety's are. Daeng suria is nothing compared to those.

For papaya the papaya holland is head and shoulders above the rest. This is a new hybrid.

For roseapples the phet si rung is great but also the older tabtim chan is great when fully ripe. The new taiwanese still have to fruit and are not on the markets yet, can come any time now though.

Osteen is also a great mango and an old one. It has a little bit fibre though and the flesh is not supersoft, i really like them as well.

Apples are all bad these days, in Holland we get loads of new variety's but i can't be bothered with them. They are not selected for taste. Even roseapples are sweeter and taste better.

Mayongchid is bigger and better then maprang wan. Maprang wan is sweeter though but tastes like mango. Mayongchid has more sour tones like a mangosteen.

I ate Chanee durian yesterday, i liked it more then mongthong since it didn't have much garlic/onion flavour. No idea how old both variety's are but mongthong is the most sold in thailand.

Petch Pakchong is a better sugarapple then the older squamosa's, much bigger and less seed. Also a little harder flesh.

Oddly enough there's no information regarding this in any of the T.K Lim books either but others species e.g. B.motleyana and B.ramiflora are dioecious so I guess there's the possibility B.angulata is too.

But today i saw many baccaurea ramiflora tree's for sale and asked the vendor if he sells male and female tree's and he had to laugh about it. He said this mafai don't need that to fruit.....Well i have no idea myself but just wanted to let you know.

Does he know about all the copy copy brandname stuff which is for sale in Asia? They even have copied new BMW models in China, you can buy/drive them there.

I just bought 2 grafted fingerlimes, do i know if they are the real deal? Nope. Do i know if they paid for the name? Nope. Do i know if they really came from Oz? And I'm afraid that I'm going to have to concur with Bangkok; Maha Chanok is an Heirloom variety that is from Thailand. It is sold in Australia as king Thai (http://www.daleysfruit.com.au/Dwarf-Mango-King-Thai.htm) and does certainly not meet your definition as  a 'Beautiful New Variety out of Florida'.

My guess is that you're using duplicitous language in order to garner interest from a market sector with an interest in 'buying American'. Well, you're technically defrauding that market and plagiarizing a variety by proxy. So you're not exactly at the pinnacle of ethical congeniality yourself.

Hendrik can you describe the taste of the artocarpus sarawakensis? There is another thread here on the forum about them, people are looking for them.

How does it taste compared to the pedalai or keledang?

Spain also has very slow mail, even for EMS.

Here everything works fine. Normal mail from Bangkok to USA, Europe, Australia all takes 14-20 days. Indonesia a few days more and EMS takes 9 days or less to anywhere. But in Spain the postal systems are very slow.

The Thai protect their market very well. Aussie avocado's still cost a lot here these days, even when the AU$ dropped a lot recently they still cost the same as last year. 3 au$ for 1 avocado in the supermarkets or local markets. Aussie cherry's 32 au$ for a kg.

But i read that people here prefer the local lime above the tahiti or other limes. Also i heard of several Thai who want to start limefarms now because of the high prices, so in a few years we will have an overload of limes i guess.

Yes this was the one. Hmm but that's a big tree to stuff in a box. That will raise eyebrows. I will ask my friends in S-Francisco if they can bring it to me.

But for you this is a great mango for your collection, google on the forum for reviews. I think it was the winner last year.

Looks like the most popular of this genus is Madhuca longifolia aka Madhuca indica, which is grown for its oleaginous seeds. The fat (solid at ambient temperature) is used for the care of the skin, to manufacture soap, or detergents, and as a vegetable butter. It can also be used as a fuel oil.

I see, well if my tree has those properties then my wife will like it. I also have the yellow roseapple which can produce real rosewater which smells great so she can make soap or skincreme or so.

But the fact that i saw it on the toptropical website makes me wonder what it is. If it was a great fruit then it would be in every treeshop here and on the markets but also my wife doesn't know it. I will ask her to google it in thai language, maybe then i get more info.

Lamut is sapodilla in Thailand but i don't know what si da means." si" means color but "da" i don't know yet. Red is "daeng" but they call it "da".
