Is this normal to see when doing an airlayer?
« on: July 16, 2020, 05:39:10 PM »
I started a couple of airlayers on my  potted fig plant, and  about a week later, 2 fruits appeared just upstream from the airlayers.
This is my 1st time doing it with figs, so I don't know if it's a natural response by the tree. Photo is of 1 airlayer, the other one is the same, but on a different branch.
Thanks,

Yes that happens quite often. Airlayering is very similar to girdling a plant, which forces it to fruit. You should remove any fruits, so all energy goes into root formation.
