luckycloud, welcome to the forum, glad to have you as a member.  Owari is a great tree, and quite hardy. A portable greenhouse and  Christmas lights should take care of most cold nights in 7b temperature zone.

Earlier satsumas like Miho Wase or Xie Shan will have a better chance to be ripe and survive in your climate.
Best regards,

-8 inside the greenhouse. For example миагава00 Satsumas on orange rootstock have been destroyed. The rootstock was insulated with foam

This is what Brite Leaf Citrus Nursery says:

"If you live in USDA Hardiness Zone 8, you may be able to, depending on your location and the variety you choose, plant your citrus tree outside. However, you will need to protect your tree from frost and freezing during extreme cold periods.
If you live in USDA Zone 7 or North, for survival of your tree, we strongly recommend you plant in a movable container which will allow you to move your citrus tree indoors during the winter."

This is a picture of a fairly large citrumelo tree growing in Winston-Salem, central North Carolina (zone 7b)

credit to Bob Snyder for the pictures of his tree

If you want to see some pictures of citrumelos surviving in a hard zone 8a climate, see this thread:

Not too long ago I sold a feral citrumelo or either a large trifoliate fruit growing in Bethlehem, GA. I'm gonna check on it next time I go back there.
