Bizarre pineapple growing with tiny top.

My boss asked me what's up with his pinnapple. Never seen anything like it. I tried googling but got a bunch of weird results.

Looks like Abacaxi type pineapple. Elongated large fruit with very narrow leaf crown. The crown can grow more upward as the fruit matures. Unlike the most common Smooth Cayenne type Pineapples that most people know from US supermarkets..

I have bought them in the store before. I believe they were imported from Brasil.

I don't think the pineapple is Abacaxi. Cause Abacaxi has spines on it

Haha, you might be right. I didn't look at the leaves. Abacaxi does have spiny edges.
