I picked my last tree ripen carrie mango this morning and ate it this afternoon. The fruit smells great and has very unique sweet flavor :P...Here is a few pics....The fruit developed a bit of yellow color...

Tree has been on the ground since 2009.

Nice! How many Carries did you get from that tree this season Ant21? Did it bear last year?

Nice to see a good looking Carrie fruit. I hate having to tell people that what they think they've got....they haven't got. Looks very tasty. I'm sure you enjoyed it.

..and with that cryptic Harry message ( ;D), I just want to say, Ant, that that mango looks divine!
And some day I hope to get a scion of the Harry Carrie mango and take a stab at
growing that beauty in my yard!
( now Harry - if you can only create something with the "Gary" mango, we could share fame
and billing space!)

Fang - I will be glad to send you some Gary seeds next year and you can be on your way to producing the Hairy Gary (though that name may not have the best ring to it unless of course the fruit turns out to have objectionable fiber ;) ;D ). Ironically Gary Zill is big on using Gary as parts of his experimental crosses though I don't know of any where he has grown them from seed for his experimentals.

that's a perfect Carrie Ant! I let my first fruit drop off the tree last year and it was yellow and a little off, taste wise. I picked the rest green and they were very good.

Carrie is one of my favorites, but I have not tasted many other mangos! :( I try to pick mine when they are just starting to get a little bit of color.

Looks delicious!
