The few thai types that are not re-badged Chinese types are poor including their big sour, big seeded one which has a name I cant remember. They are as big as yook ho pow but lower quality. You won't find Erdon Lee in Thailand or China.

Is erdon Lee less sweet than fai zee sui?
Also this is off topic but do you have a favorite white sapote variety?

Surprized to hear you say that Jason and I imagine you are getting A grade 50g FZS in HK. From Guangdong and Taiwan? Are you getting seedless in the markets and which do you prefer. I think FZS are one of the most popular just over in China.

Seedless Lychee plants were legally imported to FLorida from China in 2014. They were in the 1 year Greenhouse quarantine protocol when , something went wrong..
I do also believe there is always a backdoor way with the way the ruling class, dignitaries , super rich and their associates roll, alot can be done , obviously. Corruption is a common occurrence worldwide.

I know 1 guy that say’s he played an important roll for a ruling family and he said this eliminated any rules of import/export. People are full of it obviously , but this also clearly go’s on.

Also , how do the people that travel to countries looking for rare and unusual species bring those seeds , scions or plants home? Legally,, hahaha

A final example ( all countries are different) , a TFF member visited me from India, i had been holding a plant for him for a year or so, he successfully flew home with the plant

The grass is always greener so if you have something another collector highly covets , the incentive is there to attempt to put those seedless lychee scion in the mail and see what happens.

There is way to request wood from the Hilo station as well, the people that work there said they send out wood when requested , theres surely an email contact on their website. .

Very interesting. Do you know the hilo website address? Is there a list of what plants they have?

I can’t read foreign language.
Let me know what’s good.

Wow there’s so many, why are there some with the same names? Are any of these the fai zee sui?
failed zee sui is fei Zi Xiao in Chinese, not the great variety, Guiwei and Nuo mi city are my favorite

Guiwei is 2 types kwai mai red and pink or Bosworth 10 and 3. The pink is the standard here and considered way less desirable than FZS and they are small. Isn't Nuo Mi just the same as no mi chi of which a varation is salathiel? If so then they are good but the big FZS selections here are considered superior. FZS is also grown in warmer areas than NMC. We tend to use Pinyin names spelt differently in different areas here because we can't say them correctly. I heard you have been chatting with my brother about stuff like red lanterns.

It is in a non-lychee realm. A jab variety of note.

FZS has less acid than many types and has softer juicier flesh rather than crisp so it can depend on your preferences.

Red lantern is the best.
I can’t have it so I’m settling for seedless lychee.

Those names are so confusing.

A guy has many wives.
All are living in the same compound.

When the guy wants to spend the night with wife A, he hangs a red lantern in front of her room.
Next day he hangs the red lantern on another room.

What I don't know is if he's allowed to use 2 red lanterns.

That red lantern Jabo looks good.

No mi chi is the best variety we can get in America apparently but they say it’s also an inconsistent producer.

It is very exciting the many new varieties of Lychee available in other parts of the world.  Unfortunately most of them haven't made it to the United States.  Brad, as far as I know the seedless variety available in the United States isn't really seedless.  It is "Late Seedless".  The description of it can be found here http://tropicalfruitforum.com/index.php?PHPSESSID=2dc4f4fba08092f1395e54aefb5edc51&topic=12653.50
