I recently bought two bat houses on eBay.  The bat houses have a 5/8" openning, which is supposed to attract bats that eat bugs.  Is this a good idea or a bad idea for protecting fruit trees?

Bats f;y at night. What kind of insect are flying at night that would bother your fruit trees? Here we do have some night flying moths that lay caterpillar eggs and bother some trees. That is what you would have to find out. I'm guessing though that mostly the bats would protect you instead, by eating night flying pest, like mosquitos. Anyway bats are neat to have around.

Oscar:  Thanks, I hadn't thought about bats flying at night instead of the day.  That is actually great news... I was worried that the bats might eat the bees that pollenate the flowers.
