Now we're in a space race with the Australians to produce a better rollinia than the Sputnik! Maybe we'll call it Apollo?  ::)

Oscar,

I can't find the vid :( If I remember correctly... it was a couple ''raw foodists'' made the vid and said that the biriba was growing wild in Hawaii!

There are many fruits that grow wild here, but biriba is not one of them. Some that do grow wild here:
Guava, Cattley Guava, Java Apple, Rose Apple, Avocado, Mango, Coconut, Banana, Passionfruit (4-5 species), Papaya.
Sometimes people that move into an abandoned farm or previous homestead think that things like breadfruit, ambarella, surinam, malay apple, are growing wild, but they were just planted some time ago and abandoned.

Hi Steven  i think you must mean this video?
"Raw Food" Episode 49 - Jenna in the Jungle - Rollinia (Raw Food)
Actually what she says it that "this fruit grows right around here" Not that it grows wild around here.

Hi Oscar,
Thanks for the vid! But, it's not this one!

WoW, your Island has alot of fruit's growing wild! I would luv to take my basket and harvest all of those wild fruit's ;D ;D ;D

Here, the main invasive fruit's are the banana poka's, loquats, prickly pears and cattley guavas! Which are all tasty ;)

You are right, the couple most likely entered an abandoned farm and saw every thing growing wild!

Loquats grow wild here also at high elevations (above 2000 ft, considered invasive in those areas). We used to have lots of prickly pear growing wild on dry side of the island. Was a nuisance to cattle ranchers and they released biologicals and reduced populations to a great extent.

Yeah rollinias have had a bit of backyard selection here at the outpost. Some of the best don't look like that one in the video but are smoother skinned and quite citrussy.I tried a selection of about 20 in recent times and the the two 2 winners' seeds scored scored a one way trip to chums houses in southern australia.
